Dr. Zeiad Yossry, Professor of Neurosurgery and Parkinson's Disease, participated in the interim meeting of the Pan Arab Neurosurgical Society in Dubai, titled "A Better Future (Avoiding Complications)." The conference was held from April 12 to 14, 2018, at the Sheraton Grand Hotel. Dr. Zeiad Yossry delivered a lecture titled “Challenges in Targeting Deep Brain Stimulation of the Globus Pallidus for Parkinson’s Disease and Dystonia.”
Deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the internal segment of the globus pallidus has become a common treatment for Parkinson's disease and dystonia that do not respond to drug therapy.
Founded in 1996 in Riyadh, the Arab Neurosurgical Society continues to introduce the latest advances in neurosurgery, aiming to develop this specialty across the Arab world.
