Dr. Zeiad Yossry, Professor of Neurosurgery and Parkinson's Disease, delivered a lecture at the Oregon Health & Science University, USA, during an event held from April 3 to 5, 2019. The event was titled " Hands-On Training in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery for Neurosurgeons, Neurologists, and Interventional Pain Specialists."
Dr. Zeiad Yossry participated in the event by delivering a lecture titled "Central Nerve Ablation in Movement Disorders." Movement disorders are a group of common disorders, such as Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, and dystonia, that cause severe disability and impact patients' lives. If these patients do not respond to drug therapy, surgical treatment may be required to target a deep area of the brain to reduce symptoms and restore function.
Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is Oregon's only public academic health center, a system of hospitals and clinics across Oregon and Southwest Washington, USA. The university is an institution of higher learning, as it includes schools of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, and public health. OHSU is also a national research center, where thousands of scientists work on life-saving treatments.
