International speaker and congress coordinator Dr. Zeiad Yossry, Professor of Neurosurgery and Parkinson's Disease, participated in the First International Movement Disorders Congress in Cairo. The congress was held from February 23 to 26, 2017, at Ain Shams Specialized Hospital. In an interview with Al-Ahram newspaper, Dr. Zeiad Yossry described the gathering as the first of its kind in Egypt and across Africa. The congress featured 33 lectures, workshops, and interactive sessions on the latest treatments and technologies for Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. The Movement Disorders Clinic at Ain Shams University Hospital was selected to organize this important event, held for the first time in Egypt, presenting significant developments in the treatment of movement disorders.
The department has also been a distinguished participant in international research and publications in the field of Parkinson's disease and movement disorders, contributing to Egypt's selection to host this important scientific event. The congress featured the participation of numerous international experts and professors from Ain Shams University, helping to advance the treatment of movement disorders in Egypt and the Arab world.
